Research Interest:
My interests are in the fields of Spine Biomechanics and Ergonomics. Both of these fields converge in my work on stooped spinal postures. Stooped postures are common in many agricultural jobs and are linked to high incidences of low back disorder. I am interested in the biomechanics of stoop labor: quantifying workers' postures and motions, estimating the forces generated on the low back tissues, and determining how these factors relate to low back disorder. I'm also interested in developing tools and technologies for agricultural harvesting that are based on ergonomic principles and that will reduce the incidence of stooped postures and associated low back disorders.

Research Interest:
My interests are in the fields of biomechanics and ergonomics. Currently, I am working on my dissertation research on the biomechanics of the spine while in the stooped posture. I am investigating the passive resistance of the spine, and constructing a computer model to simulate joint loads and muscle activities during stoop.

Research Interest:
My interests are in workplace safety and ergonomics. I am currently working on an ergonomics project at Bayer Healthcare to lower OSHA recordable injuries. I am performing an assessment of three job tasks at Bayer and proposing engineering controls and design to reduce occupational health factors. I am also seeking a worker health and safety certificate.
